Microsoft has looked into the whole workers-ominous-suicide thing and has determined IT wasn't a functioning conditions put out.

As we reported in the beginning in the week, over 300 employees at a Xbox 360 manufacturing plant life owned by electronics goliath, Foxconn, threatened mass suicide concluded a make up dispute. Microsoft promised to look into into the matter and, as of yesterday, has consummated an independent investigation of the issue.

As Microsoft told Kotaku:

Microsoft is one of many companies that contracts with Foxconn to manufacture hardware. Upon erudition of the parturiency protest in Wuhan, we immediately conducted an self-directed investigation of this issue.

After speaking with workers and management, it is our understanding that the worker dissent was related to staffing assignments and transfer policies, not working conditions. Out-of-pocket to regular production adjustments, Foxconn offered the workers the option of being transferred to choice production lines or resigning and receiving all pay and bonuses out-of-pocket, according to length of service. After the protestation, the majority of workers chose to riposte to work. A smaller portion of those employees elected to relinquish.

Microsoft takes working conditions in the factories that manufacture its products rattling seriously. We cause a stringent Marketer Cypher of Deportment that spells extinct our expectations, and we monitor running conditions close on an ongoing fundament and address issues as they emerge. Microsoft is committed to the fair treatment and condom of workers employed by our vendors and to ensuring conformity with Microsoft policy.

Microsoft's statement is somewhat vague but does seem to contradict before reports that the self-destruction threats were a response to Foxconn reneging on a compensation agreement.

Antecedently, Foxconn has been accused of providing poor running conditions, enforcing long impermanent hours and allowing its security guards to abuse employees. In 2010, a spate of doer suicides made the transnational headlines and eventually even the Chinese government activity raised one of its state-ran eyebrows and told Foxconn to get its act together. The ship's company complete upbound likely its workers a 20% pay rise.
